Thanks to the grant granted, 20 seniors from Łeba - including people particularly at risk of social exclusion - gained access to free, individually selected rehabilitation treatments. The series of treatments, lasting three weeks, is implemented at the center in Łeba, which has prepared a special offer for program participants.
The project started on February 10, 2025. Most participants have already used the full package of therapeutic treatments, and subsequent seniors will be able to take part in classes in May. The culmination of the initiative will be an educational meeting for all beneficiaries, during which experts will present pro -health recommendations supporting the daily functioning of the elderly.
- This project is proof that financial support, properly targeted, can realistically improve the lives of residents. We are glad that as one of the first beneficiaries, we could in practice take advantage of the potential of the "Baltic Power" program and together with our partners take care of the needs of seniors - emphasizes Lech Urbowski, director of the office of the Local Tourist Organization "Łeba - Błękitna Land".

"Serious and healthy senior" is one of 12 projects that received support as part of the first edition of the "Baltic Power" grant program. The program is the initiative of Baltic Power - a joint Orlen and Northland Power project - implementing the construction of the first sea wind farm in Polish Baltic waters. The Farm service base will be located in Łeba, which will be the home port for Baltic Power for up to 30 years.
The budget of the pilot edition of the "Baltic Power" program amounted to PLN 150,000. In response to the September recruitment, as many as 19 local initiatives were reported, each of which was evaluated for compliance with the objectives and values of the program. Finally, 12 projects supporting social, educational, ecological and cultural initiatives were selected. Another edition of the local grant program is planned.
"Baltic Power" is not the only program to support local communities implemented by Baltic Power. The company is also involved in the program "Choczewo. Wind -powered municipality" for social initiatives from the Choczewo commune, i.e. a place where the Farm Power Power Station and a cable connection is being built. This program is implemented in cooperation with other developers of sea wind farms.
The Baltic Power maritime wind farm, a joint Orlen and Northland Power project, is the most advanced Offshore Wind project in Poland and the first to reach the construction phase. Currently, the installation of foundations and transition elements at sea is underway, and on land a land power station and cable benches are being built. The work follow the schedule, which assumes that the farm in 2026 will include about 1.2 GW of power in the national energy system. It will also be one of the first farms in the world, with 15 MW wind turbines each. Baltic Power will cover about 3% of Poland's current energy demand, thus limiting the national emission of CO 2 by approx. 2.8 million tonnes per year compared to production from conventional sources.
