SOS for water! Łeba cleans up the world

Water, sea, lakes, and canals are among Łeba's greatest treasures. They create the city's unique character, attract tourists, and are a part of the daily lives of its residents. Therefore, it's crucial to keep them clean and remind everyone that trash left on land often ends up in the water.

On Saturday, October 3, 2026 , the "SOS for Water! Let It Be Trash-Free" event will take place in Łeba . This is the local installment of the 33rd Clean Up the World campaign , which aims to collectively clean up the area and educate residents about the environment.

Where and when will the event take place?

Participants will gather behind the seaport's boatswain's office, at Kościuszki Street 1.The event will begin at 11:00 a.m. and last until 1:00p.m.

A gift for the first 50 participants

The organizers have also prepared a practical gift for the most engaged residents. The first 50 peopleto participate will receive a bio-waste container.

The rule is: 1 person = 1 property = 1 container. The containers are intended exclusively for Łeba residents. A small bonus for doing something useful—and lo and behold, civilization can sometimes function without apps, subscriptions, and 47-page regulations.

Why is it worth participating?

Cleaning up the world isn't just about collecting waste. It's also a reminder that everyday choices matter. A bottle, bag, can, or cigarette butt left in the wrong place can end up in the soil, sewer system, river, lake, or sea.

The event is part of an educational and informational campaign carried out in cooperation with a consortium of companies: Remondis Sp. z o. o. and "SANIPOL" Kościński & Wąsik Sp. k. under a contract for the collection and transport of municipal waste.

Such activities not only help organize the space but also serve as a reminder of proper waste sorting, responsible use of containers, and the importance of daily habits. Because garbage doesn't teleport itself to the bin, although looking at sidewalks, some people probably count on this technological marvel.
