Recruitment for the second edition of the "Power of the Baltic" grant program has ended

"The Power of the Baltic Sea" is one of the key social initiatives conducted by Baltic Power and the ORLEN Foundation for Pomerania in the area adjacent to Poland's first offshore wind farm and the operations and maintenance base . The program is enjoying growing interest – this year, during the nearly two-month application period, 18 applications , totaling PLN 461,000 . Applications were open to non-governmental organizations, local government units, Łeba Municipality institutions, and resident groups operating through authorized entities.

The applications will now be assessed by the Program Council , and the list of beneficiaries of the second edition will be announced in October 2025 on the program's website: mocbaltyku.pl .

First edition and support for local projects

As a reminder, 12 projects received support totaling PLN 150,000 Funding was provided for projects including the purchase of a drone for the local Volunteer Fire Department, the organization of sports tournaments, and initiatives to improve safety and promote a healthy and active lifestyle in Łeba.

Baltic Power – offshore wind farm

Baltic Power, a joint venture between ORLEN and Northland Power, is the most advanced offshore wind energy project in Poland. An intensive installation campaign is underway, with the first turbines and over half of the foundations already in place. Ultimately, the farm is expected to produce approximately 4,000 GWh of emission-free energy annually , which will meet the demand of approximately 1.5 million households and account for 3% of national energy consumption.

The Baltic Power operations and service base in Łeba will serve as the home port for vessels servicing the farm for up to 30 years. It will employ approximately 70 people, including technicians servicing the farm, located 23 km offshore. The base also houses the Baltic Power Maritime Coordination Center , which monitors maritime traffic around the farm 24/7.

ORLEN Foundation for Pomerania

Since 2015, the ORLEN for Pomerania Foundation has been supporting the region's social and economic development by implementing projects aligned with the ORLEN Group's sustainable development strategy. In the 2023–2025 period alone, PLN 1.2 million . These investments benefit the local community, improving the safety and quality of life of residents.

Thanks to initiatives such as the "Power of the Baltic" programme, Łeba is becoming a place where the development of modern energy goes hand in hand with care for the local community and its needs.
