Millions of tourists visit the Baltic Sea every year
Statistics and research confirm that the Polish seaside remains attractive, and towns like Łeba are visited year after year by families and young travelers alike . And easy access to last-minute international deals hasn't prevented tourists from opting for a vacation in northern Poland.
According to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS), in July and August 2025,
as many as 2.1 million people visited coastal areas, spending a total of 9 million
overnight stays – an increase of approximately 6% compared to the previous year. Moreover, 81.4
% of these were domestic tourists, meaning Poles spending their holidays in Poland on the Baltic Sea.
Such data clearly shows that the popularity of Polish seaside holidays is not declining—on the
contrary: it's growing. Places like Łeba have even seen a several-dozen percent increase
in overnight stays, indicating that smaller towns are also gaining in
tourist interest.
A short trip to the seaside is becoming more and more popular
According to a study commissioned by the Polish Tourist Organization, as many as 73%
of Poles aged 18-65 planned to take a leisure trip with at least
one overnight stay Many people chose a trip to the Baltic Sea to breathe in
the seaside air, hear the roar of the waves, and feel the sand beneath their feet.
"A few years ago, we went to the seaside for a weekend in the spring. Many people were surprised, because
you usually go to the Baltic Sea in the summer, and only when it's really warm. It turned out to be
fantastic, and walks on the beach are wonderful, not just on hot days. Now we organize
such short trips every year, and many of our friends are happy to join us. Last
year we went to Władysławowo, and this year we want to visit Łeba," says

How much does a seaside holiday cost?
The cost of a seaside vacation varies widely these days, depending primarily on the standard
of accommodation, length of stay, and location. The average price for accommodation during the high season for
a family of four is around 300–450 PLN per night in a guesthouse or private room, and
450–600 PLN for a holiday home. If you're looking for an apartment near the beach, be
prepared to spend around 600–850 PLN per night, while a stay in a 3- or 4-star hotel
can cost as much as 800–1300 PLN per night during the summer.
Total expenses for a week's vacation also vary depending on the standard. For example,
the approximate cost of a seven-day camping trip on the Baltic Sea for a family of four
can be less than 3,000 PLN if you're catering yourself. For a guesthouse,
with at least one meal included, expect to spend around 4,000-6,000 PLN, while hotels
can be several times higher.
